Sizing Information:
Fits hip pockets in popular FirstGear and Hein Gericke pant models such as the HT 2 Air Overpants and the HT 2 Overpants. The armor piece is approximately 5 1/2” wide x 8” tall.
Add this armor to hip pockets in popular FirstGear pant models. It’s a soft rubber compound that will provide some cushion in case of a fall. The armor pieces come packaged with some plastic rivets which are used for the armor’s installation in some FirstGear jacket models, so just discard the rivets when using the armor pieces in FG pants as shown above.

The included knee and hip armor (made of perforated foam) seems too soft and too small, but I feel a bit safer with the Hiprotec armor. I figure the extra safety is worth the extra money. I was able to fit the Hiprotec armor and the original perforated foam together into the hip armor pocket for a significantly more protected feeling. (Read more...)
