Alpinestars S-MX Plus Boots
Sizing Information:
The overall fit/size of this new style seems “true” to their published size chart (see below), so if you are comfortable with a certain size from previous boots, then choose the same size. I’d consider the width of the men’s sizes to be normal to slightly wide (D or E).

The SMX Plus adds more robust protection features and more elaborate ankle protection, making this boot a “semi-professional” boot. It definitely provides more armor coverage than other race boots in the same price range. This boot combines an external zipper and internal speed laces and an adjustable buckle on the calf area to provide a system that can be adjusted for the rider’s instep and calf size. The internal laces are combined with an external plastic brace and some internal armor/foam to form sort of an ankle brace arrangement. The laces pull all that together for a close fit around the ankle and instep. Then the side zipper and calf strap close the rest of the boot. No doubt this is an improvement in comfort and protection. Looks of the boot are great and would be a complement to almost any riding gear. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above for some good close-up photos of the closure system and the boot’s other features.
