Icon Field Armor Chukka Boots

The fit of these boots is on the small side. I estimate they run about one half size smaller than normal, so if you are between sizes, definitely choose the larger size.

The Chukka boot reminds me of a heavy duty hiker boot with the addition of a MX style strap over the instep area. The strap across the instep helps keep the laces from hanging up on the bike parts and adds a bit of styling to the boot. The heel has a very large molded protector around it that should work very well in case of a fall. The inside of the heel area is rounded so that the boot should stay on your feet very well. In fact, the heel protection is a bit stiff and unless you unlace the boot quite a way, is a bit painful to put on (heel passing over the top of the inner cupped shape of the armor), but it’s OK once it’s on. The sole and toe box area are plenty heavy duty enough for standing on pegs, shifting, etc. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see some good shots of the boot.
