Wow! What a great deal on a waterproof street/sport boot. One of Teknic’s distributors recently put this model on sale, so we took all they had at a great price. The Defender boot is a great choice for the touring and street rider. The outer shell of the boot is a man-made leather material (similar to Sidi’s Lorica), the sole is a rubber compound and the lining is a soft, lightly padded nylon material (Teknic’s website says the boots are Italian leather, but I disagree). The boot has armor pieces installed inside the shin area and also on the inside of the ankle. The toe box and heel cup have firm inserts to provide protection and to keep the shape of the boot intact with use. Also included is a waterproof/breathable membrane to keep you comfortable and dry. The closure system consists of a 5 1/2” side zipper which is covered by a full length Velcro-close flap. The top of the boot has some stretch material and the wearer can adjust the calf area with the Velcro. Max circumference at the top is about 15” to 16” (around the lower calf).
