I was really impressed with this glove when I tried them on for the photos. This glove is constructed of quality materials and has many protective features. I think this one will be a hit with everyone from the everyday sport rider to the serious track rider. And at this closeout price, I don’t think you’ll find anything comparable elsewhere. Let’s go through some protective features… The back of the hand is protected by a molded knuckle protector (under the Airblade), and smaller rubber armor pieces on the fingers. There is some high density padding on the pinkie along with some added leather reinforcements giving that area a good deal of abrasion protection. Located at the base of the palm are two hard plastic armor pieces that will not only offer abrasion protection, but will also act as a slider of sorts to help prevent your wrist from being twisted when making contact with the pavement. The protection continues down the gauntlet with some pretty substantial molded armor protecting the inside and outside of the wrist. Even with all of this armor and padding the gloves are surprisingly comfortable and the kangaroo hide palm is soft and should give a great feel for the controls. And what about the “Airblade” feature? Hmmm, well the idea is that the Airblade will help to channel airflow through the vents located directly behind it. I haven’t gotten on a bike with these gloves, so I can’t comment as to the effectiveness of this system, but I’d bet it’s more a styling gimmick than a useful feature and the blade itself seems a bit flimsy. But nevertheless, this is a terrific glove considering the comfort and protective features and certainly last but not least, the closeout price!
