Our Two Cents

The Moto GP GP 1 piece suit offers everything you would expect in a racing suit at a fantastic closeout price. The suit is constructed with heavy duty perforated leather that should work well in mild to warmer conditions. The shoulders and elbows come with standard CE approved armor. The knee armor is very substantial, CE approved, and provides extensive coverage of the shin area as well. These armor pieces are secured with Velcro which attaches directly to the suit’s leather shell. This method of installing the armor in the suit is more stable than the usual style which is to slide the armor piece into a pocket in the lining. Along with the removable armor, the suit also has some comfortable padding sewn into the hips, tail bone area, lower chest and lower back. The suit’s arms and legs are pre-curved for a tucked racing position. The legs of the suit are pre-curved to about a 45 degree position, which feels perfect in a crouch. It feels a little goofy when you are standing straight up, but evaluate the feel when in the riding position and you’ll like it. The suit also has an aerodynamic race hump on the back. The speed hump on the back is a safety thing primarily; the hump will provide a bridge between the back of a rider’s helmet and their shoulders in case of a fall. This lessens the chance of one’s neck being wrenched forward (chin down position). Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see some good closeups of this suit and its features.
