Sizing Information:

The waist on these pants measures out correctly and the side waist straps allow some adjustment (in or out a couple inches), but the hip padding makes the pants fit a bit tighter than normal pants. You can buy the size you normally wear if you always can comfortably wear that size, but if you are sometimes between sizes or pushing the limit on a size, you should go to the next bigger size. The pants are made to be worn over underwear but they could be pulled over light clothing as well. In this case, you’d definitely want to go one size up.

We haven’t carried the River Road line for a couple years (they’re mostly black leather “Marlon Brando” styles), but recently our distributor rep pointed out this closeout deal and I thought it would be a great product for all styles of riding. The Mojave pants are a simple jean style partial-mesh pant for every-day use. They are a nice compromise between close fitting sport pants and the loose fit of an over-pant style. The partial-mesh construction will allow cooling wind to pass through freely in warmer riding conditions. And for cooler or rainy weather the pants come with a water/wind resistant liner that can be installed. The liner is a nice feature and should extend the usable weather conditions for these pants. The only thing I didn’t like was the way the liner fastens into the pants. It’s an awkward button/elastic arrangement that takes a bit of fiddling, so set aside about 5 minutes to install or remove the liner. But heck, it can’t all be good for a price like this, right? For crash protection the hips and knees both come equipped with removable armor, and the pants have an 8” jacket attachment zipper that includes a mating half that can be sewn into the jacket of your choice. Take the “View Large Pictures” link above to see some good closeups of these pants and their features.
