Sizing Information

You can consult sizing information from FirstGear to choose a size based upon your height and weight and also considering the sizes you normally wear in men’s clothing. Tall sizes: FirstGear offers this jacket in talls, which provides a rarely found option for tall people. The body and sleeves of the jackets are 1 1/2 to 2 inches taller than the “standard” cut jackets. If you normally have to buy “talls” then these should work for you.

Our Two Cents

The Kilimanjaro 3 jacket is the third version of FirstGear’s popular 3/4 length touring jacket. This jacket is packed with comfort and convenience features. A 3/4 length style like this can provide great coverage from the elements, especially in cold weather. The main zipper of the jacket is “two way” meaning you zip it up normally from the bottom, but you can also raise a second zipper slider from the bottom which will help with comfort when sitting on a bike in the riding position (you’ll know what I’m trying to say when you try it out). Another thing you’ll appreciate for the road… plenty of storage. I count eight pockets in all including the large cargo storage pockets on front that have little organizing features built in. For cold weather, you get a removable full-sleeve thermal liner. And when it warms up, you can use the zippered vents (two in front and two in back). For crash protection, you get a full set of armor: Temperfoam shoulder/elbow armor with EVA foam back pad. To upgrade the elbow and shoulder armor, you can replace the foam armor with the Core-Comp armor listed below. This jacket has a lot of features and we’ve put together a number of photos that show them off well, so please take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see them in detail.
