Held Slide Comp Gloves
Sizing Information:
Held gloves are sold in glove sizes rather than the normal “alpha” sizes you are used to in the US. But fear not, we offer a comprehensive guide to choosing a Held glove size for you:
And here is some information about the long term care of Held gloves:
The Slide Comp gloves are a sport oriented short cuff glove. Many racing gloves have great features for protection and are pre-curved and such to give superior feel for the controls. But ALL racing gloves are made with a full gauntlet, which many street riders would prefer not to have. When trying on the Slide Comp gloves, I got the feeling of wearing a highly protective race glove, but with a short gauntlet. The palms are kangaroo hide which give the best possible combination of protection, longevity and feel for the controls. The kangaroo hide used here is embossed with a cool looking geometric pattern too (different than many of their other styles). The heel of the hand is heavily reinforced with stingray hide and the knuckles are covered with what Held calls “titanium”. Actually to me, it looks like a carbon fiber protector overlaid with a titanium colored plastic for looks. But anyway, it’s a heck of a substantial knuckle protector. The gloves are secured to the hand with a Velcro-close strap at the wrist and the gauntlet is independently adjustable with another Velcro closure. The inside is unlined in the palm and lined with Kevlar fabric on the back of the hand. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link to see some good close-up photos.
