Sizing Information

Have a look at Joe Rocket’s size chart. We feel this size chart gives an accurate estimate of size for this product.

Our Two Cents

The Comet takes the solid design of Joe Rocket’s popular Meteor jackets and adds some nice features. Structurally, the jacket feels heavier and more secure with the leather inlays on the shoulders and elbows. The leather inlays improve the jacket’s ability to hold the armor in position as well. The “carbon fiber” embossed pieces on the shoulders are a nice styling cue also. For cold weather use, the jacket should be very comfortable. The removable liner feels thick and should provide good warmth—especially since it extends down the sleeves (not just a vest type). For hot weather, you can use the large zippered biceps vents to admit some cooling air, and to help keep the jacket from inflating, there are two rear zippered exhaust vents. For night time visibility the jacket incorporates a large reflector across the shoulders. The jacket comes complete with dual density armor in the shoulders and elbows and also a back pad. There is also a short rear zipper to allow you to attach the jacket to Alter Ego, Ballistic or Phoenix pants.

I purchased this jacket well over a year ago and finally had a chance to use it as it was looking like rain and we know how well most leather jackets hold up to wet weather. Well it did rain and my comet jacket kept me dry. Unfortunately the jacket is no longer being offered, but this review does give me a chance to give props to the newenough staff. (Read more...)
