Our Two Cents

A good pair of pants is always a very popular item for us on closeout. Riding pants are considered a “secondary” purchase for riding apparel by a lot of folks and when our customers see a good deal on pants they usually sell quickly. Moto GP is not a brand we’ve carried in our non-closeout department up to now, but it’s distributed by our second largest distributor (Tucker Rocky, the same folks that bring us FirstGear) so I know they’ll stand behind their product. When I personally took a look at these pants, I was pleasantly surprised by the features and the overall build quality. I’d describe this style as “sport” or “adventure”. They are fairly trim fitting through the seat and legs. The taper at the legs is “average” and could be worn tucked in (like the picture above), or over boots (take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see the full pant leg on our model). The construction consists of a combination of textile fabrics, a waterproof/breathable mid-liner and a nylon inner liner. For cold weather use, there is a removable quilted thermal liner that should really do the trick. A design that has a waterproof mid-liner will make them less comfortable in hot weather, so consider these pants as good for mild to cold weather. The armor supplied for the knees is substantial and comfortable and you also get some thin foam armor in the hips. You’ll notice in our pictures, the color/texture difference of the two black fabrics used (especially noticeable in the seat) is not as pronounced in person as in the factory picture shown above would suggest. I suspect the factory picture may be one of the reasons this pant has landed on the closeout list rather than having sold out as normal. Just a guess, but if true, it’s your gain!
