Our Two Cents
The TCI Products OutBack Luggage System is a one piece rack that includes Pelican 1520 side cases. We also offer the OutBack rack by itself giving you the option to add the luggage of your choice. The Pelican 1520 side cases are designed to be attached to the removable side brackets on the rack. Drilling holes in the Pelican cases and attaching them to the removable side brackets is the responsibility of the customer. This gives the customer the option to position the side cases to their own specifications. It’s important to note that once Pelican cases are drilled the manufacturers warranty is void, but TCI has so much confidence in the quality of Pelican cases that they will warranty any Pelican case that is damaged while in use with the OutBack rack, granted the cases were purchased with their OutBack rack. The side brackets feature a sturdy, quick disconnect spring loaded pin design for easy removal and mounting of the side cases to the rack. The spring loaded pin on the removable side brackets comes pre-drilled so you can add a padlock if you choose. The Pelican cases also have a metal reinforced padlock option on the lid, locks not included. Depending on the make/model of motorcycle turn signal relocation may be required. This allows for a range of case mounting positions as well as maintaining proper turn signal visibility. If turn signal relocation is necessary, the relocation points are on the rack itself and TCI Products includes all the necessary components for you to complete the turn signal relocation. This product could have used a blinker wire harness extender as the wires were a bit taught once relocated. And I would have paid extra for this product if they offered a retainer for the spot in which the blinkers once existed. The blinker mounting spots are integral in the secureness of the tail light.
