Joe Rocket Alter Ego 2.0 Textile/Mesh Jacket

The Alter Ego 2.0 is Joe Rocket’s second version of this style. This jacket is really two (maybe three) jackets in one and the main focus is to keep you safe and comfortable in all types of riding conditions. When completely assembled, the jacket appears to be a nicely styled textile jacket which would work well for cool to mild weather riding. But when things warm up, you can remove a large portion of the solid textile material around the torso to expose a full mesh jacket underneath. The sleeves also come off (from about mid-bicep down). And while the resulting mesh jacket isn’t completely mesh, it’s pretty close and will do a good job of keeping you comfortable for hot weather. But that’s not all…. for wet weather or just for chilly mornings, you also get a windproof/waterproof liner. To keep all the components of the jacket stored away neatly when not in use, you even get a tidy storage pouch which can be installed in the jacket with Velcro, or stored in your luggage (I’d think the bag with the panels and such in it would be a bother if worn in the jacket…but that’s just me :) Built into the mesh jacket is a complete armor system including CE approved “turtle shell” type armor for the shoulders and elbows along with a dual density foam back pad (CE approved back pad upgrade available—see below). This jacket is an ideal choice for a long tour where all kinds of weather will be thrown at you, or even for an an occasional rider who wants just one “do-all” jacket for all seasons.
