Sizing Information

Hmmmm… fit on this model is a little tricky, This jacket offers a substantial removable liner (consists of a windproof shell and a insulated inner-liner), so naturally the jacket fits tighter with the liner installed. The overall fit of the jacket with the liners installed is pretty close to the indicated size of the jacket (and maybe a bit on the big side), but with the liners removed, the jacket fits about one size larger than the size would indicate as shown below:
Marked Size Fit Without Liners In Jacket
XS/38 40
Small/40 42
Medium/42 44
Large/44 46
XL/46 48
XXL/48 50
XXXL/50 52

My thinking is that most people will use this jacket without the liners or just with the windproof liner. The part that adds the bulk is the insulated liner and will be used least often. If you agree that you’d typically wear the jacket without the thermal liner, I’d suggest you buy one size smaller than normal. If you often between sizes, then choose the smaller of the two.

Our Two Cents

Wow, this jacket is the ultimate jacket for adapting to the weather conditions. Other makers offer “convertible” styles, but this one definitely is the most comprehensive design I’ve seen—and for a very good price too. I’d suggest you take the “View Larger Pictures” link above and have a look at the photos which show this jacket in its different configurations for different weather conditions. Starting with the extreme of cold and wet, you can utilize the waterproof/windproof full sleeve liner along with the removable thermal liner. This will provide protection against the wet AND cold. For more moderate temperatures, you can go with the waterproof liner, but not the thermal liner. Then in dry/mild weather, go with the jacket only with the solid textile outer shell installed. And finally for hot dry weather, remove the solid textile outer panel and you’ve got a very nice full mesh jacket. And all this including armor for one low price. Speaking of the armor, you get the CE approved, GP type armor which provides very good protection. And finally you get a foam back pad. The jacket also has a short rear zipper for attachment to Tour Master/Cortech textile pants. One last consideration for touring riders: The waterproof liner is constructed so that you can wear it separately from the coat. This a very convenient feature for those who travel on their bike and wish to pack lightly. The liner can be worn as a wind breaker, or even as a coat with the thermal liner inside. Neat!
