The Helius jacket is designed to provide the best abrasion protection (that only leather can provide), but in a package that is lighter and more comfortable than a full-on sport leather jacket. The shell construction is a combination of perforated leather and textile. The textile inserts in the underarm and inside-arm areas provide some freedom of movement and cuts the overall weight of the jacket. The perforated leather will admit some needed cooling air in warmer temperatures and for cooler weather, you can zip in the removable vest type thermal liner. The shoulders and elbows are equipped with removable CE approved armor. There is also foam padding in the back and chest that can be upgraded to the optional CE approved back and chest protectors (see links below). The jacket also has some good storage space with two lower front pockets, one exterior chest pocket and one interior pocket.
