The Scout IV jacket will be a favorite for street and touring riders since the design includes a lot of features that let riders deal with varying temperatures and storage issues. The overall style of the jacket is casual which allows folks to feel comfortable either on or off the bike. This is helpful for touring riders who will want to use a jacket in the evenings while traveling and this one would look great with casual clothing just about anywhere. The jacket comes with venting and a removable thermal liner. It’s a nice liner with full sleeves and a thermal neck wrap. The front of the jacket has a unique feature also—a dual main zipper. You can zip the jacket up on either zipper and by using the “auxiliary zipper, you’ll take up about 1 1/2” in the chest. This is a handy feature to adjust the fit to compensate for removal of the thermal liner or to compensate for different weights of clothing underneath. For impact protection, the jacket comes with removable CE molded rubber armor pieces in the shoulders and elbows. There is a pocket for installation of the optional Temperfoam back protector (see below). Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see these and other features in detail. Like other FirstGear products, the materials used and the overall build quality of this jacket are excellent.
