Icon Retro Daytona Leather Jacket

The Retro Daytona is made using a special process that makes the jacket look old and worn right out of the box. I’m no expert and I really don’t know how they do it, but it looks like it’s through a combination of tumbling and perhaps getting the leather moist and letting it dry (gives it a slightly rumpled look). Like the “regular” Daytona jacket, this one offers motorcycle weight leather along with CE rated protectors in the shoulders and elbows to provide crash protection. There is also a foam back pad included. The armor is a rubberized “turtle shell” type. Climate control is accomplished with zippered vents on the shoulders and rear exhaust vents on the back of the jacket. Also, there is perforated leather used under the arms and down the sides of the torso. For colder weather, you get a removable thermal liner that is a full-sleeve type (which will help block the flow of cold air through the perforated leather sections). Another feature unique to the Icon line are the long side zippers on each side of the torso. If you raise the zippers you get a belly expansion of about 5”. Icon says this is a feature for “Busa” riders… Hmmmm.
