FirstGear Torrent Mesh Jacket
Sizing Information:
You can consult sizing information from FirstGear to choose a size based upon your height and weight and also considering the sizes you normally wear in men’s clothing. Tall sizes: FirstGear offers this jacket in talls, which provides a rarely found option for tall people. The body and sleeves of the jackets are 1 1/2 to 2 inches taller than the “standard” cut jackets. If you normally have to buy “talls” then these should work for you.
The Torrent jacket is a rare 3/4 length mesh jacket made with the touring rider in mind. The advantage of a 3/4 length mesh jacket is the added storage space and additional torso coverage. The jacket has four large cargo style storage pockets, an additional interior pocket and a large storage pouch in the rear of the jacket. The jacket will work well in mild to hot weather. The mesh design will allow a great deal of air to reach the body keeping you cool in hot weather, and a removable water/windproof liner is included for cool or rainy weather. The main zipper is “two way” meaning you zip it up normally from the bottom, but you can also raise a second zipper slider from the bottom which will help with comfort when sitting on a bike in the riding position (an important feature on a longer jacket like this). The wrist closures, waist and bottom of the jacket are all adjustable for a comfortable secure fit. For crash protection the jacket is equipped with removable CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbows. You also get a back pad, but it’s admittedly kind of flimsy, so consider the better Temperfoam back pad shown below. There is a rear pants connection zipper for use with compatible FirstGear pants.
