Alpinestars Argon WP Jacket
Sizing Information:
Choose a jacket size based upon what you normally buy in men’s clothing. If you want to measure yourself to help pick a size, have a look at Alpinestars’ sizing chart. And for those who may have a bit of a belly, we encourage you to consider our estimated max belly sizes listed below. Choose a jacket size that will accommodate both your chest and your belly. This particular jacket felt a bit tight in shoulder width and felt like the arm holes were smaller than most other jackets. If you have a slim to normal build, I don’t think it will be a problem, but if you are wide shouldered or muscular, I’d recommend another size with a more “normal” fit.
| Alpha Size | Max Chest Size (inches) | Max Belly Size (inches) |
| Small | 38-40 | 35 |
| Medium | 40-42 | 38 |
| Large | 42-44 | 40 |
| XL | 44-46 | 42 |
| XXL | 46-48 | 44 |
| XXXL | 50-52 | 46 |
Product Video:
The Argon WP jacket offers a simple, straight forward design for cold to cool weather and wet weather use. A design like this that uses a waterproof lining to keep rain out is generally very effective since there are not zipper opening and such to allow a point of access for water. But a style like this will be comfortable only for cold to mild weather use because there are no provisions for venting. Speaking of cold weather though… this jacket has a very nice full sleeve removable thermal liner that should be very comfortable down to pretty cold temperatures. Must better than most. Although this jacket is a simple design, it appears well made (like all Alpinestars products). I really like the small roll of neoprene around the sleeve seam end and around the collar. Those are very comfortable against the skin. The elbow and shoulder armor in the jacket is a CE rated molded rubber type. The back pad is simple foam, but you can upgrade the back pad (see below) and you can also add front torso padding. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see some good close-up pictures of this jacket’s design.
