The Exile textile jacket is a lightweight and comfortable sport cut jacket that should work well in cool to warm temperatures. The jacket has mesh panels built in for ventilation on warmer rides that look pretty effective. There are also some nifty zippered vents on the sleeve ends to admit some air. For cooler or rainy days the removable full sleeve water/wind resistant liner can be installed to protect you from the elements. For crash protection the shoulders and elbows come equipped with removable CE approved armor. There is also foam padding in the back and chest that can be upgraded to the optional CE approved back protector and Bionic chest protectors (see links below). The Velcro waist straps allow for a good amount of adjustment to help get a proper fit. The jacket also has a full circumference zipper for attachment to compatible Alpinestars pants. This is the aftermath of a 40 mph lowside. The jacket served its purpose and saved the skin on my arm. There is a small pull on the seam so it needs to be repaired before it could be used again, but it did serve its purpose. (Read more...)
