Sizing Information

This jacket is sold in men’s “alpha” jacket sizing so normally you could choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing, but with this particular jacket, we find it to fit about 1/2 size more snug than usual. If you are between sizes, then I’d advise you to choose the larger of the two. If you don’t normally find yourself between two sizes, and you don’t like a snug/sport fit, then try one size larger than normal. Here is Fieldsheer’s sizing info which shows measurements for alpha size jackets. Again, I think this jacket fits about 1/2 size smaller than indicated: Fieldsheer Sizing Chart.

Our Two Cents

The Corsair Jacket is different than most textile styles because of the material used. The shell is made of Carboflex fabric. It’s thick, flexible and has a bit of stretch to it. The material itself sort of reminds me of seat belt fabric with a bit of stretch to it. Fieldsheer claims it’s almost as good as leather for abrasion resistance, and after feeling it, I would not doubt that claim. And since the fabric has a bit of stretch to it, it’s very flexible and comfortable to wear. I also like how the fabric looks in general. It’s smooth and modern looking… not wrinkled like the more typical ballistic nylon jackets. Of course it’s not cheap, but for those what would like a jacket with protection on par with leather, but want the comfort and practicality of textile, this would be it. The overall styling of this jacket is geared toward street, cruiser or even scooter riders. The simple, all-black design is tailored much like a simple jean jacket and looks good on or off the bike. The jacket comes with the full complement of removable CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbows, and there is also a better-than-average back protector included as well. The jacket’s shell is semi-porous so air will pass through to provide ventilation in hot weather. Not as freely as a mesh, but much more freely than normal textile jackets. For cooler mornings and to keep rain off your body, you get a full sleeve windproof/waterproof removable liner. The liner doubles as a windbreaker which can be worn as a casual jacket when off the bike. We’ve got a shot of the liner being worn separately.
