Sizing Information

Below is the sizing chart as provided by Fieldsheer. We find this chart is pretty accurate based upon our measurements of the actual waist and inseam. They’ll work OK as overpants over light clothing, but if you want to wear them over heavy clothing, then go up a size. If you are between sizes, choose up. The pants have some size waist adjuster tabs that will allow you to snug them down. The waist estimates found in the table are max sizes, so the adjusters will snug them down from there.

Our Two Cents

The Mercury 2.0’s are a versatile pair of overpants which should work well in a wide variety of climates. The zip out insulated liner is easy to install and remove, and will keep you warm on colder days. When things warm up, simply remove the liner and open the thigh vents to let in some air. On really hot days, I would imagine these would get pretty warm, as the vents aren’t that large so consider these pants for mostly cold to warm weather use. These pants feature a full length zipper down the sides of each leg (on the outer shell and the liner), which will make them very easy to put on over boots and your regular clothes. Another great feature is the knee armor positioning system. There are basically three Velcro strips at the top and bottom of each armor pocket so that you can get the armor to stay in just the right place. An adjustable waist also helps to keep things comfortable. For nighttime visibility, there is Phoslite® reflective piping around the knee area, and a nice large reflective area down by the ankles. A Rainguard liner is also built into these pants to help keep you dry if you get caught in the rain. These should be a great all around pant for those who ride in varying conditions and need that versatility. Take a look at our feature pictures for closeups of these pants. I like the overall look and fit of the pant. Some overpant styles are sort of baggy, especially ones that have the removable liner, but these pants are a bit more trim and look nice. :: 06-17-13

These are my first pair of riding pants. I use them as overpants and they work great. I purchased a Large and wear a 36" waist pants. They just fit over a pair of jeans. They are made well and have plenty of storage. Not too well vented...1 o... (Read more...)

These pants have been great! Very nice for cold rides. Got down in the high 20's for some of the rides and with the liner in, kept me comfortable. Reflective piping is very visible and I believe them to be waterproof, but have not tested yet. I ha... (Read more...)
