The Atomic 3 is a great value on a versatile textile jacket for the touring or sport rider that will work well in cool to warm weather conditions. For warmer weather the jacket has sleeve vents and two large chest vents. A problem that you run into with the venting in some jackets is keeping the vents open. The inner flaps of the two large chest vents on this jacket can be snapped together holding them open. Although we haven’t tried it ourselves, it looks like it would be very effective (see our close-up pictures). For crash protection, the jacket comes with removable CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbows along with a backpad that can be upgraded to an optional CE approved back protector (see link below). The jacket has an adjustable waist, sleeve adjustment snaps and Velcro-adjustable wrist closures making it easy to get a good fit (and block out unwanted wind on cooler days). There is reflective piping across the back of the jacket increasing nighttime visibility. There are also belt loop attachments that can be used to help keep the jacket from riding up in the tuck riding position (when not zipped to pants, short rear zipper included).
