You’d want to buy a jacket in the size you’d normally buy men’s clothes (like your tee shirt/jacket size). The jackets are made slightly taller and larger than standard with the idea you’d be able to wear them over a jacket and pants without having to choose a larger-than-normal size. The chart below gives an estimate of actual measured size. You could choose a jacket size by measuring your chest with your gear on.

The Rainman jacket is a higher quality rain jacket constructed of Nylon (PVC is the material used in cheaper suits). Nylon feels more like fabric as opposed to the plastic/rubber feel of PVC, so you’ll enjoy wearing this jacket. The jacket is nicely styled and has a waist band adjustment to help keep the material under control in the wind. There is also an integral elastic cord (adjustable too) built into the bottom hem. The main zipper of this jacket is constructed with an extra flap to help prevent leakage. A hood is included—hidden under the collar. The neatest feature of this jacket is the integral storage pouch which allows you to store the jacket in a very small, convenient pouch in your luggage (see pic by taking the “View Larger Pictures” link above).
