Have a look at FirstGear’s sizing chart. If you normally buy a tall in clothing make sure that you look at the measurements on the tall jackets. We found these to run fairly true to this chart… if anything, maybe a bit relaxed. If you are in between sizes you might want to choose one size smaller.

Our Two Cents
The Mesh-Tex Jacket is great for any rider who is looking for a lightweight, well vented jacket. FirstGear has been offering a simple, quality all-mesh design over the years. They started with the name “Mesh-Tex” with their first design, then added the software revision style number each year as they came out with a new style. I guess they got tired of that, now we are back to the original name again. Now, on to discussion of the features. Let’s start with the climate control of this jacket. The entire outer shell is made from mesh polyester to give you total ventilation through every inch of this jacket. And, the liner is a typical mesh nylon material, so the wind will blow right through this design. There is a removable, full-sleeve water/wind resistant liner that will help block the wind on a cool day or keep you dry in the rain. This jacket does not come with a thermal liner though, so we do not recommend it as a winter jacket. The storage on this jacket is basic but plentiful. You get two zippered hand warmer pockets on the outside and for internal storage, there is a secure cell phone pocket, a patch pocket on one side, and an internal document pocket. For protection, there is removable CE armor in the shoulders and elbows and an EVA dense foam back pad. In addition, there is also a second layer of mesh over the shoulders and elbows for abrasion protection in case of a fall. Overall, I really like this “legacy” design. The cut is sharp, it’s got all the basic features and the pricing is reasonable, plus you get a wide choice of colors and sizes. It will be a hit!
