Our Two Cents
The Tundra gloves have some unique features not found in most other cold weather gloves. These gloves are insulated on the back of the hand only and the palms are made of leather. For a motorcyclist, this approach will provide some warmth against the cold wind blasting the back of the hand, but it will retain the rider’s feel for the controls. The lining of the gloves is a very soft fleece material, so it’s not just the leather on the underside, but without a layer of insulation, it does seem to offer good feel. FirstGear also says this setup is ideal for those who use heated grips (makes sense). For crash protection there is a hard protector in the heel of the hand. The hand protector looks like it would do a good job of causing the glove to slide along the ground rather than catching on the pavement and rolling your hand. It would also be effective at preventing the pavement from rubbing through the otherwise supple palm material. Last but not least, these gloves are equipped with a waterproof/breathable liner and they also have a generous amount of reflective piping to increase nighttime visibility.
