Sizing Information

These pants are sold in Alpha sizes and allow for some waist adjustment. We find the pants to run small as compared to Alpinestar’s sizing chart (the discrepancy gets progressively worse in the larger size pants). We developed the following chart to help you get the best fit based on your US pants size. This fit estimate is assuming you’ll be wearing the pants over underwear only (not over other street clothes). These pants really aren’t made to be worn over other street clothes, but if that is your intention, you’d want to order one size bigger.

Alpha Size Our Estimate of

Our Two Cents

The Edge Drystar pant is a great looking, sporty riding pant for just about any type of street riding. These pants will work well in cool to warm temperatures and should work well for wet riding conditions. The shell is an abrasion resistant nylon material and beneath that is a waterproof/breathable liner that should keep you dry. The pockets in the pants are not waterproof so you would want to find a better place to store items like a cell phone when it is raining. The breathability of the liner will help somewhat to keep them from feeling clammy (like plastic pants might). But even with a “breathable” liner, a pant like this will be hot to wear in hot weather, so consider this style for cool to warm weather. For crash protection you get CE approved armor in the knees and a foam pad in the hips. There is a rear zipper that connects to Alpinestars leather and textile jackets. But if you don’t have that brand of jacket, you can use the mating half of the zipper (included with the pants) and visit a tailor to install the zipper in the jacket you own. For increased nighttime visibility the pants have reflective piping across the seat of the pants and reflective panels on the lower leg.
